(處, 处)

To dwell, abide; fix, decide, punish; a place, state. (sa) āyatana, [lang id =1028]阿耶怛那, also tr. [lang id =1028]入, place or entrance of the sense, both the organ and the sensation, or sense datum; hence the [lang id =1028]十二處 twelve (sa) āyatana, i. e. six organs, and six sense data that enter for discrimination.
